Overview of Polish Agriculture

Poland is a country with strong agricultural heritage and rich agricultural soil. Polish agriculture is dominated by the small family-owned farm, over 2 million of them, which produce fruits and vegetables using traditional farming methods. Therefore, it can be argued that even products produced conventionally in Poland are safer and cleaner than products produced in many Western countries. For example, genetically modified foods are not generally grown in Poland, and allowed on supermarket shelves only if appropriately labeled.

Poland is the number 3 producer worldwide of raspberries and black currants, and the number 4 producer worldwide of strawberries and carrots according to the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and the FAO. Symbio Polska is bringing these same products and many others, certified organic, to the international food processing industry and fresh markets.

Polish agriculture is so far behind the West, that in many ways it is ahead of the West.
